Aim

     Five-Year BEd Degree Course is designed to be introduced to batch No (1) in 2012-2013 academic year at University for the Development of the National Races of the Union (UDNR). Thus this Five-Year BEd Degree Course Programme aims at turning out efficient educational personnel holding BEd Degree and committed to our Three Main National Causes.

Duration

Every academic year is allowed as follows:

First Semester 16 weeks
Second Semester 16 weeks

Weekly allocation of teaching periods is as follows:

Practical work before class hours 5 periods
Class Lecture 35 periods
Practical work after class hours 5 periods

Mode of Delivery

Effective teaching is offered by means of lecture, demonstration, practical works, using multi-media aids, practical teaching and excursion trips.

Assessment for First Year to Second Year

Assessment for Academic Subjects, Mathematics, History, Economic, and Myanmar(First Semester) are made as follows:

(a) Tutorial 20%
(b) Practical/ Assignment 10%
(c) Semester- end Examination 70%

Assessment for Myanmar, English, Geography, science subjects and Aspect of Myanmar(Second Semester)are made as follows:

(a) Tutorial 10%
(b) Practical 10%
(c) Project Paper 10%
(d) Semester-end Examination 70%

Credit System

The term “Credit” is defined as follows:

(a) Theory: 1 period of lecture per week per semester = 1 Credit

(b) Tutorial / Practical: 1-3 periods of per week per semester = 1 Credit

(c) For Co-Curriculum & Special Co-Curriculum: 

1 instruction period followed  by 1-5 periods of physical activities/ field practice = 1 Credit

Grading System

The term “Grade” (G) is defined as follows:

Pass, Distinction and Pass Grade

The terms “Pass”, “Distinction” and “Pass Grade” are defined as follows:

(a) Pass: Those who have GPA 3.00, 75% attendance (ie assigned credit) and 50% marks in each subject (Grade Number 3) are certified to pass the examination.

(b) Distinction: Those who have 75% attendance (ie assigned credit) and 75% marks and above in each subject (Grade Number 5) are certified with distinction.

(c) Pass Grade: Those who gain at least 3.00 GPA (Grade Point Average) are pass for B.Ed and 4.00 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) are qualified for M.Ed. degree course and 4.50 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) are qualified for Credit.
